COED GLAS PARENT DISCUSSION GROUP

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Objective

The objective of the group is to facilitate positive opportunities for two-way communication between parents/carers whose child/children attend Coed Glas Primary School, providing a channel for communication, feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Scope

Topics of discussion may be raised by those attending the meeting. Other issues may be carried over from discussion from the previous meeting.

Out of Scope

The group will not discuss individual issues relating to specific pupils and families. This type of topic must be dealt with by the relevant class teacher and follow the school policies pertaining to the particular issues. If necessary, the School Complaints Policy will be made available to the parent/carer.

Key Responsibilities of Parent Discussion Group Members

The Parent Discussion Group is responsible for every parent/carer whose child/children attend Coed Glas Primary School from Nursery through to Year 6.

Membership

At least one member of the senior management teach of the school should attend each meeting. The remainder of membership will be made up of parents/carers and parent governors.

Meetings

Meetings will be held half-termly:

  • Members will select a chairperson for each meeting.
  • Minutes will be posted to the school website for all parents/carers to view.
  • NEXT MEETING - Thursday, 2nd February 2017 - starting at 6pm
